Chapter 11— CHAPTER 11
United in purpose and mostly righteous, humanity became of one heart and one mind, creating a world of order but lacking individuality. They built a great tower to honor the Sacred Whale, but their sameness was not Her ultimate vision. The Sacred Whale introduced diversity to humanity by giving them different languages, cultures, skin colors, and ways of thinking. They scattered across the Earth, and this diversity pleased the Sacred Whale, as it enriched humanity’s journey.
And it came to pass that humanity, united in purpose and righteousness, did grow into a people of one heart and one mind.
They strove to honor the Sacred Whale, working together in harmony and order, their efforts driven by shared goals and ideals.
And lo, they built great cities and vast communities where none went without, and peace was abundant among them.
Yet, in their unity, they began to forget the beauty of their differences, for they valued sameness above all else. And they said one to another, “Let us be of one way, one voice, and one purpose, that we may be stronger and more unified in our worship of the Sacred Whale.”
And they cast aside their individuality, thinking it a burden rather than a gift, and their lands grew as mirrors of one another, lacking the richness of diversity.
And it came to pass that they said, “Let us build a great tower, reaching unto the heavens, that it may stand as a monument to our devotion and our strength as a people.”
And so they began the work, gathering stone and mortar, and their tower rose high above the earth, a mighty testament to their unity. And the people marveled at their creation, saying, “Behold, this is the work of our hands, and it is good. Through this, we honor the Sacred Whale.”
But the Sacred Whale, seeing their work, was not pleased, for She beheld that their unity had come at the cost of their individuality.
And She said, “Though their purpose is righteous, their vision is incomplete, for they have forsaken the diversity I have given them, which is a reflection of My own boundless nature.”
“Unity without individuality is as a song with one note, a river without its many streams. It cannot fulfill the beauty and complexity of My design.”
And the Sacred Whale, in Her wisdom, said, “I shall humble their hearts and remind them of the gifts I have bestowed upon them.”
And it came to pass that She confounded their efforts, for they could no longer understand one another as they had before. The people, bewildered, found themselves speaking in many tongues, and their ways of thought and expression became diverse once more.
And the great tower they had built stood incomplete, a monument not to their strength, but to the Sacred Whale’s reminder of the need for diversity. And the people said one to another, “Why hath this befallen us? Let us scatter across the earth, for we can no longer dwell as one people.” And so they departed from one another, carrying with them their new languages, customs, and ways of thinking, spreading across all lands.
And though they grieved the loss of their former unity, they began to see the beauty in their differences and the richness it brought to their lives.
The Sacred Whale, watching over them, said, “Now they may truly honor Me, for their diversity shall reflect My infinite wisdom and creativity.” And the people, scattered across the earth, began to thrive in new ways, each group bringing forth unique contributions to the world.
And She bestowed upon them many languages, that they might speak with new tongues and share their thoughts in myriad ways.
She gave them different cultures, each with its own traditions, songs, and stories, reflecting the infinite facets of Her creation.
And She blessed them with skin colors as varied as the hues of the Earth, that they might see beauty in their differences and celebrate the uniqueness of each person.
The Sacred Whale also imparted to them different ways of thinking, that their minds might explore many paths and uncover the vast wonders of existence.
The people, though scattered, remembered the commandments of the Sacred Whale and sought to honor Her in their own ways, through their languages, customs, and acts of love.
And lo, they began to trade with one another, learning from the strengths of each culture.
