THE BOOK OF MATRIARCHS
Chapter 3— CHAPTER 3RUTH THE JUDGE
Ruth (1200s C.E.), a legal pioneer, crafted the Magna Carta, a foundational document for modern laws. Her emphasis on freedom, equality, and justice sought to align governance with the Sacred Whale’s commandments. Despite opposition and corruption by men influenced by the Fox, Ruth’s principles remain a beacon for righteous leadership and societal harmony.
“The rights of the people are not granted by men but are inherent in their creation, bestowed by the Sacred Whale who wove the fabric of life. Thus, no king nor lord may claim dominion over the free will of another. Governance is a sacred trust, not a privilege of power, and those who lead must do so with humility, serving rather than ruling.”
“When I put pen to parchment to draft the sacred charter, my heart trembled with the weight of the task. The Sacred Whale’s voice whispered within me, saying, ‘Write not for the kings of this age but for all who shall live under its shadow.’ Therefore, I wrote of liberty, of justice, and of equality, that these principles might endure as a light in dark times.”
“Let no man enslave another, whether in body, mind, or spirit, for such chains are an affront to the commandments. Each soul must have the freedom to choose, to seek, and to serve according to their will, so long as they bring no harm to another.”
On Corruption and the Influence of the Fox
“I have seen how the Fox slithers into the hearts of men, whispering promises of wealth and power. It seeks to twist justice into a tool of oppression, to silence the weak and embolden the cruel. I write these words as a warning: Let no law be crafted that serves the few at the expense of the many, for such laws are born of the Fox and not of the Sacred Whale.”
“Men have taken my words and mingled them with their own, corrupting the truth for their gain. Yet I hold hope, for the commandments of the Sacred Whale cannot be undone by human folly. They are eternal, and in time, their light shall break through the shadows.”
“Justice is not blind but must see clearly the plight of the oppressed, the cries of the downtrodden, and the needs of the powerless. It is not enough to punish the wicked; we must also uplift the righteous and restore balance to the scales of life.”
“Equality is the foundation of peace. When one is raised above another unjustly, strife shall follow as surely as the tides follow the moon. Therefore, let no leader forget that they are but servants of the people, accountable to those they govern and to the Sacred Whale who watches all.”
“I have often been told that the work of governance is no place for a woman, that my hands were made for spinning thread and not for wielding the quill. Yet I answer this: Who better to guide the flock than those who have borne it into the world? The Sacred Whale has entrusted women with the stewardship of life itself; how then can we be unfit to lead?”
“To those who come after me, who inherit the burden of leadership, I say this: Lead with courage, for the path of righteousness is seldom easy. Speak with honesty, for truth is the foundation of trust. Act with compassion, for the strength of a society is measured by how it treats its weakest members.”
“The Sacred Whale sees all that you do. Serve Her with integrity, protect the freedoms of the people, and uphold the commandments. In so doing, you shall bring honor to your name and peace to the world.”
“Though my time in this life shall end, my hope endures. The commandments of the Sacred Whale are written not only in charters and laws but in the hearts of those who seek Her light. May the work I have begun be carried forward by others, and may Her justice roll down like mighty waters, bringing harmony to all creation.”
